'A Lone and Angry Man' is one okay western

A Lone and Angry Man (aka "A Coffin for the Sheriff") (1965)
Starring: Anthony Steffan, Eduardo Fajardo, Armando Calvo, Arthur Kent, Arturo Dominici, Luciana Gilli, and Miguel Del Castillo
Director: Mario Caiano
Rating: Six of Ten Stars

A man with murky motives and background (Steffan) worms his way into a gang of outlaws in search of information about one of their previous raids. Things become dangerously complicated when he discovers the outlaws are planning a raid on a local ranch owned by the one man who knows his true identity.

"One Lone and Angry Man" is one average spaghetti western. Nothing here is particularly good, but nothing is particularly bad. It moves steadily through its story-line with a shoot-out or fight every few minutes, with the actors all playing the usual assortments of Mexican banditos, corrupt sheriffs, staid ranchers, and damsels just waiting to be placed in distress so the hero can show his true and chivalrous colors and save them.

It's film for those who haven't seen very many European westerns, or for the hardest hardcore fans of these movies... the rest of us would be better off with something featuring Clint Eastwood & Lee Van Cleef or Bud Spencer & Terrence Hill.

Hitler's Suicide Note Set to Music

On April 30, 1945, Adolf Hitler took the coward's way out and killed himself. Rucka Rucka Ali has recorded "Hitler's Suicide Note," a fitting tribute to everything Hitler was.

It's time for Adam & The Ants

Travel back in time 30 years for the best of Adam Ant.

Although it's admitting to being an old coot, I like these old songs far, far more than anything being recorded today. A line from "Stand and Deliver" sums up my take on most modern music, and why I am amazed there's a piracy problem:

What's the point of robbery when nothing is worth taking?

And last but not least... perhaps the greatest Adam Ant song of all "Puss In Boots." (I probably shouldn't admit this, but several friends and I used to do that little hoppy dance in the video perfectly. :))

It's Tax Dax, so it's time for the Taxman!

Here in the United States it's Tax Day... everyone's Federal income tax return filings are due today. Some of us are paying, but many of us are getting far, FAR more back than we ever paid into the system.

In celebration, here are some songs about The Tax Man.

Here's a cover of The Beatles' "Taxman". It's a song all about what Obama and his supporters would like life to be like for those of us who pay taxes.

Here's a song from Lucky Dube about questions the greedy, self-absorbed cusses in Washington D.C. and state capitols don't want working lower-middle class Americans to ask, for a range of reasons.

I hope he doesn't call for a boycott....

The guy in charge of the Catholic League, Bill Donohue, is upset because Kate Upton appears in a "nun bikini" in the "Three Stooges" remake that's just been released in U.S. movie theaters. Although the very smart lady who is my office assistant and receptionist said she thought that film would be right up my ally, this is a film I have Zero Interest in. And a film that I suspect is at a level of "Love Guru" as far as cinematic atrociousness goes.

I just hope no jackass starts calling for a boycott and thus makes me obligated to go see it for review purposes. (Although if someone DOES see it, let me know if my pre-judgement is incorrect.)

But no matter what I may think of the film, I can still post a couple of stills of Kate Upton in the offending outfit.

Personally, I don't see the problem. Upton's hair is covered, so at least she's not one of those immodest women who will cause earthquakes. The great and wise Imam of Imams Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi can masturbate with a happy heart while enjoying his bootleg copy of "The Tree Stooges."
